The HeartWise Culture Check-up

A friendly check-up of your culture, about five to ten minutes. Answer for how things are most of the time, not how you wish they were. There are no wrong answers.

It ends in a clear, kind plan: what is already strong, which HeartWise training could help your people next, and one small first step for this month.

  • About five to ten minutes
  • Sixteen short statements
  • No wrong answers
  • Never a grade

A plan for your people, in sixteen statements. For a personal reflection of twelve statements, try the HeartWise Compass.

Step one

Let’s begin. Who is this check-up for?

Choose your path
And you are…

We ask so your plan can include the training that is for leaders. You can answer on your own, or read the statements aloud in a meeting and answer together.

Choose one of each to begin.

How it works

Three gentle steps, one kind plan

  1. 1

    Choose your path

Our school, or our organisation. The same sixteen statements, in the words that fit your place.

  2. 2

    Answer sixteen short statements

One at a time, in six themed chapters. Choose how often each one is true. “Not sure” is always okay.

  3. 3

Get your map and your plan

A culture map, what is already strong, three HeartWise training modules in priority order, and one small step for this month.

Six chapters

What the check-up looks at

How people talk, support each other, keep their shared agreements, handle disagreement, look after themselves, and how leaders show the way.

    Where it leads

A plan built from your own answers

Your plan names the three HeartWise training modules that fit your answers best, in priority order. They are delivered in a HeartWise Camp, as on-site training, or as part of the HeartWise Certified journey.

The module names are working titles while the training is finalised. The plan is a starting conversation, not a promise of any result.

      For leaders and teams

Prefer to read the questions first?

      Questions

      Good to know

Is this a test or a grade?

No. It is a friendly check-up: a picture of how things feel today, in words that celebrate what is strong and name where there is room to grow. There are no grades, percentages or rankings.

      Who should answer?

A principal, a leadership team, a member of staff, a leader, HR or a team member can answer. You can answer on your own, or read the statements aloud in a meeting and answer together. Several people can each take it and compare their maps: the differences are a good conversation.

      Where do my answers go?

Your answers stay in your browser, on this device. Nothing is sent unless you choose “Get my plan by email”; then we receive your plan summary and the details you type into that form. You can also print or save your plan.

What if I am not sure about a statement?

Choose “Not sure”. It never counts against you and it does not change your result.

What happens after I get my plan?

The plan is a starting conversation. You can start a conversation with us, look at a HeartWise Camp, ask about on-site training, or read about the HeartWise Certified journey, which is not yet certifying anyone. Nothing is bought on this page.

Short on time, or reflecting for yourself?

The HeartWise Compass is a shorter, personal reflection of twelve statements, for families, teachers, school leaders and workplaces. The Culture Check-up is the one for a plan for your people.
